SRF 2008!

Announcing the 25th annual OHSU Student Research Forum
May 8-9th 2008

This year the OHSU Student Research Forum (SRF) will host 70 student research oral presentations, and a large cross disciplinary poster reception. We invite students from SON, SOD, SOM, and OGI to present research from any field! The oral presentations will be centered on 14 health and research themes (see below) that encompass a range of research priorities at OHSU. There will also be one all inclusive poster reception in the evening of May 8th, following the keynote speaker. The goal of these sessions is to bring together OHSU students with diverse expertise to present and discuss recent discoveries, studies, tools, and medical advances on their topics of interest.

Call for Abstracts in February
The call for abstracts for the SRF will be sent out soon! Each oral presentation session has space for 5 presenters. A $300 first place and $200 second place award will be given for each oral presentation session. These monetary awards are possible because of generous sponsorship by many OHSU research institutes. All sessions will be filled on a first come first serve basis, so please respond promptly to the call. We will be delighted to have participation from all research disciplines!

SRF Planning Meetings
The 2008 SRF Planning Committee meets the first Thursday of each month. It is not too late to attend, learn more about the forum, and get involved! This is a great opportunity to network with other students and make the SRF everything you want it to be. Students from OGI, SOD, and SON are currently not represented - please join us and give your school a voice! The next meeting is Thursday February 7th from 12-1pm in BSAC 6501.
