GSO will hold our first meeting of the quarter on October 6, 2010 in the Student Center Media Room. Please join us for food, two guests, and a discussion of what you'd like to see from the GSO in the coming school year.

Please give some thought to what types of services you would like to see from the GSO, and how we can better connect West Campus and distance students in our graduate programs.

Upcoming Event: Emergency Medicine Dept.

The Department of Emergency Medicine, the Emergency Medicine Interesting Group, and American Medical Student Association are proud to present:

"Haiti, Chile and the Future of Disaster Response"
a lecture by Thomas D Kirsch, MD, MPH

Tuesday, September 21 - 12:00 pm
Old Library Auditorium

Dr. Kirsch has extensive disaster, international health and health care management experience. For the past 15 years he has served as the National Physician Advisor for the American Red Cross Disaster Health Services, and has consulted on disaster-related issues for the World Health Organization, Unicef, the Centers for Disease Control and the United States Agency for International Development (Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance). He also has real-life disaster management experience from local incidents to the responses to the 9-11 terrorist attacks and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Upcoming GSO Events (Fall, 2010)

Welcome Back!

On behalf of the Graduate Student's Association (GSO), we'd like to welcome new and returning students to the Fall term, 2010.

Annual GSO BBQ (September 24, 5pm)

Please join us Friday, September 24 in the CROET Courtyard for our annual GSO Fall BBQ. The OHSU Alumni Association will be grilling, and we will be serving up beer and music.

The fun starts at 5:00, immediately following the Campus Services Orientation (Student Center, 3:00 to 4:30).

Regular GSO Meeting (October 6, 5pm)

We also invite all graduate students to attend our regular GSO meetings beginning October 6, and every first Wednesday of the month thereafter. Meetings are at 5pm in the Student Center Media Room, and light snacks are served.

Student Community Service Fair (October 7, 5pm)

The Office of Academic & Student Affairs will be hosting a fair (with free sushi!) showcasing opportunities for you to engage in community service during your OHSU training. The fair will be held in the Student Center Gymnasium, and all students are welcome.
